Rock the Planet Ministries is committed to creating safe environments for children, young people and vulnerable individuals across all ministry activities, including those connected to rocktheplanet.org.za.

We take safeguarding seriously and aim to ensure all ministry environments are safe, accountable and trustworthy.

- Staff and leadership
- Volunteers and ministry workers
- Partner organisations
- Anyone representing Rock the Planet Ministries
SAFEGUARDING PRINCIPLES
We are committed to:
- Putting the wellbeing of children first
- Creating safe and transparent environments
- Maintaining appropriate boundaries
- Ensuring accountability in all interactions
- Responding promptly to concerns
SAFE PRACTICES
We aim to ensure:
- Appropriate adult-to-child ratios
- No unsupervised one-on-one situations where avoidable
- Clear visibility in ministry environments
- Responsible use of digital communication
- Consent for photos, videos and personal information
RECRUITMENT AND TRAINING
We aim to:
- Screen and vet volunteers where appropriate
- Provide safeguarding awareness and training
- Ensure leaders understand their responsibilities
REPORTING CONCERNS
Any concerns, suspicions or disclosures of harm must be taken seriously.

- Responding appropriately and promptly
- Following legal reporting requirements
- Supporting those affected
CONFIDENTIALITY
Information will be handled sensitively and only shared where necessary to protect individuals.
